Presenting HN02 Dune, a visual and technical novelty.

Dear collector,

With the forthcoming HN02, I am happy to present a material innovation never before seen in the watchmaking industry — a case constructed from a composite of PA11, a bio-polymer derived from castor beans, and oyster shell powder. Further, the dial is crafted from 6N rose gold with diamond-cut and applied Eastern Arabic numerals and a 3N yellow gold galvanized mainplate.

This pioneering material unites two worlds: the precision of engineered polymers and the organic irregularity of the sea. PA11, long valued in aerospace and medical applications for its strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to fatigue, is melt-blended with finely milled oyster shell particulates under controlled temperature and pressure. The result is a homogeneous composite in which the carbon backbone of the polymer integrates with the calcium carbonate structure of the shell, creating a case that is light, rigid, and texturally alive.

Beyond its performance attributes, the composite embodies a philosophy — transforming renewable and discarded natural matter into a form of permanence. It represents both an ecological awareness and a new direction in material craft, positioning the HN02 Dune as a novelty in both science and symbolism. Given it’s natural origin, the oyster powder gives the case a textured feel and a slight iridescence, augmenting the overall composition of the piece.

This marks the first known use of a PA11-oyster composite in a Swiss-made timepiece, underscoring Havid Nagan’s commitment to exploring the intersection of innovation, sustainability, and fine watchmaking.

Dune is offered in 7 pieces and is exclusively available for order from Havid Nagan’s Dubai based retail partner, Perpétuel Gallery. Deliveries are expected to begin April 2026.
